Due to the use of antibiotics in human and veterinary medicine, residues can remain in the environment. Here the substances are affected by many chemical and physical influences like photolysis, biological metabolism and reactions with other substances which may cause the formation of degradation products with unknown consequences for the environment.

  • Analysis of antibiotics and their degradation products in water
  • Identification and characterization of degradation products
  • Investigation of photolytical degradation of betalactame antibiotics
  • Method development using LC-MS/MS
