Oriel Sol3A Solar Simulator (Newport) is equipped with an XBO 1000 W/HS OFR xenon short arc lamp (Osram). When the Air Mass 1.5G spectral filter is applied, the spectrum of emitted wavelengths is limited to the range of 300 and 1400 nm that corresponds the typical solar spectrum.
The device is used for photodegradation experiments of contaminants present in water, to mimic the processes occurring on natural environment.
