Description

Removal of Natural Organic Matter (NOM ) from Raw Water and Waste Water - Optimization and Characterization of the Flocculation Process by Scanning X-Ray Microscopy
(BESSY)

This project is sponsored by the Ministry of Education and Research. In cooperation with Dr. Jürgen Thieme (Research Institution for X-Ray Physics, Georg-August-Universität Göttingen) and Prof. Reinhard Nießner (Institut für Wasserchemie und Chemische Balneologie, Technische Universität München), the parameters influencing the flocculation process and the reactions leading to the flocculation process are investigated by observing the flocs during their formation and growth.

Part of the project "Build-up of a scanning X-ray microscope at the electron storage ring BESSY II"
