Description

Goal of the HighCon project, which started in September 2016, is the development of innovative and selective processes to maximize industrial water recovery (zero liquid discharge, ZLD), while at the same time, producing a solid product suitable for reuse in the industry. Well known processes (such as Flocculation, MBR, Nanofiltration, RO) and upcoming water treatment technologies (e. g. Membrane distillation, monoselective electrodialysis, low temperature distillation-crystallisation) will be further developed and applied. Following the development and adaptation of the treatment technologies, full scale experiments will be carried out at three different locations.

Main tasks of the DVGW-research center at the Chair for Water Chemistry and Water Technology include:

  1. Characterization of the wastewater sources
  2. Application of different membrane processes for waste water treatment
  3. Investigation of scaling and fouling formation
  4. Monitoring of full scale application
