Description

The aim of the proposed project is to design a reaction cascade for the production of biopolymers from waste that is so robust that it can be further developed or adapted to specific biomass material streams in follow-up projects led by an industrial partner. Potential stakeholders were integrated into the project for this purpose. These participating companies support the project through analyses, the provision of components and sensors or through advisory participation in the status meetings. The process control by controlling the biofilm thickness is to be protected by patent. Once the relevant framework conditions have been clarified, the results are to be presented in international specialist journals and at conferences. Finally, the research results should help to raise public awareness of the bioeconomy and sustainable production. Existing exchange formats between the KIT and the city of Karlsruhe or schools will be used for this purpose.
